Captain's Charity: The Epsom & Ewell Puffins Club

The Puffins is a sports and social club located at the Rainbow Centre in Epsom. Membership is directed towards those with physical, sensory and learning disabilities and together we enjoy a variety of activities such as swimming, badminton, bowls, table tennis, boccia and board games. Social time, including a very popular raffle, is also an important part of the evening.

We meet on Monday evenings at the Rainbow Centre in Epsom from 7.30pm to 10.00pm and the cost is £1.50 per evening with an annual subscription of £5.00. Able-bodied members are always needed to assist in all these activities as full members of the club.

In addition to our weekly club nights, we try to organise extra social events, normally on a monthly basis. These can range from ten-pin bowling, barbeques, outings and regular visits to other disabled clubs, taking part in their organised competitions.

On an annual basis we try to fund a long weekend away and this is especially beneficial as it develops the member's social skills and the facilities there such as bowling, archery, shooting, tennis and swimming also help to improve everyone's sporting capabilities.
